Sculpture
‘Stuff’ is probably not the most refined term to use when describing the Fine Art discipline that I studied, but I just love ‘stuff’! As you will see from the images here, my practice is as diverse as you can get, and I still cannot control my childlike need to explore materials. Some might argue that art should be more disciplined, but if I want to explore a method or material then I will. I have absolutely no fear of trying new avenues and exploring ideas through an extensive range of materials. Although it is no longer very practical, I spent quite some time working in cast iron and pushing the boundaries in terms of what I could cast and how it could be done. Recently I have been making small scale bronze sculptures which are displayed with mixed media objects including hand made textiles pieces.

Sketchy little sketch, the beginning of a new work. Could this be St Brigid? Will she be ready for February?

Put the finishing touches to this breezy little painting today! You can almost hear that harp being played by the wind with a little help from the tree! Aeolian Dream! @wildthorne @tworiverspaper @shinhanart

Birds were singing their little heads off this morning! Seemed only right to splash some colour around. We were interrupted by the sound of a vehicle in the distance reversing! Hope 😂 Didn’t put us off though! Hope you enjoy their pretty songs 🌟💚🌟
